The Farm's Featured Pet

Samuel March

Meet Featured Pet Samuel March, a 14 and a half year old Dachshund owned by Mr. and Mrs. Patrick March of Nashville. Samuel has been a frequent guest of The Farm for overnight lodging since September 2007.

Samuel is one of our very special "senior" guests (although you can see he wears his age very well!) Due to his age and health issues that sometimes go hand-in-hand with aging, Samuel has a permanent spot on our special needs wing when he comes to board with us. Because of our 24-hour care, this gives Samuel all the extra attention he enjoys and the peace of mind his owners have come to rely on from The Farm. And while Samuel may be small in stature, he is big in personality! He loves to be in the center of attention – which is so easy to give Samuel with his sweet, loving, and sometimes mischievous personality!

The Dachshund is a short-legged, elongated dog breed in the hound family. The standard size of the Dachshund, literally meaning "badger dog" in German, was developed in the early 1600's in Germany to scent, chase, and flush badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals. In the American West, they have also been used to hunt prairie dogs. Dachshunds are clever, lovable, playful companions, and an ideal pet for many homes, including those with children with appropriate supervision. They require moderate exercise, and can adapt to most living environments. Samuel is certainly a wonderful example of his breed!

We are honored to have Samuel as a client of The Farm!
