Take your dog’s training further!
For graduates of the Lifestyles Basic class (or equivalent), Lifestyles Intermediate Obedience builds on the concepts learned there, with a focus on properly greeting strange dogs and humans, dealing with distractions, and maintaining control over your dog at a greater distance. The final test gives participants the opportunity to earn the AKC Good Citizenship certification, which is a requirement for therapy dogs, and also has a number of benefits for owners.
The class is a small group setting of 5 to 10. Dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations. Friends or family are welcome to observe.
Cost: $225, due in advance (non-refundable once the class has started).
Duration: Six weeks, with allowances for holidays. You may miss one (1) class without penalty; further missed sessions may result in inability to graduate.
Location: The Farm’s main lobby.
Time: 6:30 – 7:30, although participants are encouraged to arrive a little early to allow their dogs to settle.
Dates: Basic Classes are run on either Monday or Wednesday nights, depending on demand, and are usually run consecutively throughout the year. Intermediate Classes will be scheduled based on demand, on average 2 – 4 times per year.
