The Farm at Natchez Trace will offer the first in a series of nine lectures in its 2010 Lecture Series on Sunday, March 21st, 2:00 p.m. featuring local veterinary expert I. Craig Prior, DVM, of Murphy Road Animal Hospital. Dr. Prior will kick off our first lecture of the year on the topic of flea and tick products and prevention. You’ll learn how to understand the various products available, what is safe, and what is best for your pet. A question and answer session will follow the lecture. The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited and reservations are requested by calling The Farm at 615-662-6628, or by emailing lectureseries@thefarmatnatcheztrace.com.

Dr. Prior is a Partner and the Medical Director of Murphy Road Animal Hospital in Nashville. He is also a regular guest on Channel 5's "Talk of the Town;" featured contributor on the Home and Garden Network, NPR, and Dog Fancy. Born and raised in Australia, Dr. Prior represented Australia at the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee, before graduating in 1984 from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, with a degree in veterinary medicine. His interests include small animal medicine and surgery, as well and avian and exotic animal medicine and surgery. He moved to the United States in 1985 and joined the staff of Murphy Road Animal Hospital in 1986.

Dr. Prior shares his veterinary knowledge through speaking engagements throughout the country and guest appearances with various media outlets. In addition, Dr. Prior is a veterinary consultant to international PR companies and ad agencies. He resides in Brentwood, Tennessee, with his wife Cindy, their two children Elle and Bryce, and a menagerie of pets.

The Farm at Natchez Trace is proud to offer the educational series, now in its fifth year, to help pet owners gain knowledge about current issues affecting the emotional and physical health of their pets. Some future topics will be cat behavior, canine massage therapy, senior pets, and therapy dogs, to name just a few.

If your pet is here with us for Boarding, "Dog's Day Out" Day Camp, Day Lodging, or Bathing, the pet will be automatically entered in the drawing. In recognition of Ireland's legendary dog breeds, all breeds of Irish descent are our Special Guests (no charge) for "Dog's Day Out" Day Camp. Bring your Irish Setters, Irish Terriers, Irish Water Spaniels, Irish Wolfhounds, Kerry Blue Terriers, and all Glen of Imaal Terriers!!! (And of course those who have only one parent of Irish descent are welcome as well!)
